Family is the abode of love. In each family, the light that spreads through this abode of love is one- Mother. The Mother is the pillar of strength of the whole family. If a mother chooses to do all her duties to the family well, it is a solution to all the problems that we face in the modern world. It is necessary that truth be shown when lies are spread by the new media and the modern world and true values be taught when kids stray off-course. Mathru Jyothi is an organization with an aim of realizing these objectives among other aims such as women’s-empowerment and societal development.
It is believed that behind the success of every man there is a woman- as a mother, as a sister, as a daughter, or even as a friend. A woman should be able to tackle the roughness of life with her willpower and make it smooth, strengthen the bonds of life. Mathrujyothi works to achieve this objective and bring forward women in the spiritual, physical, societal, and cultural realms of the world.
Mathrujyothi started functioning in Vayala under the guidance of Fr. Paul Kozhuppankutty in the year 1993. The organization guides each of its members to give proper care and love to the future generations, making them the better citizens of tomorrow. By actively participating in each and every social activity of the parish, forane church, and the diocese, Mathrujyothi becomes a pillar of strength of the parish of Vayala.
On the third Sunday of every month, after the second Holy Mass of the day, Mathrujyothi members assemble together, offer prayers, and read the Bible together. We also organize occasional classes by eminent personalities of the society and makes sure that each mother of the parish participates in it and benefits from it. The good guidance and presence provided to the organization from its present director Fr. Joseph Idathumparambil, joint director Sr. Annie Tom, and Sr. Flower Maria strengthens us and takes us forward.
